Freedom House Detroit provides housing, legal aid, food, and medical support for asylum seekers and survivors of persecution seeking safety and stability in the United States and Canada. When designing this poster, I knew I wanted to create something powerful and impactful. Many nonprofit campaigns rely on sadness and emotional appeals to capture attention, but I decided to take a different approach. Instead of focusing on despair, I used images from protests to highlight the strength, resilience, and determination of people fighting for change. I wanted viewers to understand that real change can begin with just one person. My goal was to make the audience feel empowered and inspired to take action and contribute to the cause. I also made sure the call to action was clear, bold, and impossible to overlook.
